The Pomegranate Health Systems Facility Pomegranate Health Systems was first founded in 1998, and built it's state-of-the-art residential facility in Columbus in 2008 to serve the needs of Central Ohio, and beyond. A predecessor location in Byesville was closed. Pomegranate has 60 residential beds. The building is 44,000 square feet. A 10 bed acute hospital was added in 2010. Pomegranate operates 24/7. Pomegranate is accredited by The Joint Commission, licensed by The Ohio Department of Mental Health, and certified by The Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services. At Pomegranate each patient is given a room with private bathroom. Bed linens and personal hygiene products are provided; staff launders personal items during a patient's stay. Guardians may also provide approved hygiene products of patient's personal preference. Facility activity expectations for residents include: a morning routine with personal hygiene, meals in the dining room, living room policy and integrative schedule, quiet time, a bedtime routine and lights out policy, and TV time/video equipment guidelines. Pomegranate employs a strength-based system for good behavior with rewards such as outings to basketball games, soccer, bowling, shopping, meal at a favorite destination. Each resident is given a patient handbook with client rights upon their admission to Pomegranate. A typical residential stay might be 3-6 months, but may extend up to a year. There is on-site schooling via VCS. A typical acute stay might be 3-10 days to stabilize a patient. |
